9h Capsule Hotel by Design Studio S

When in Japan, you absolutely have to set aside time (say, about 9 hours) to have this particular unique experience at least once.
No, I’m not talking about buying used girls underwear from a vending machine – I’m talking about staying overnight at a capsule hotel.
Three years in the making, the 9h Capsule Hotel (designed by Design Studio S) is named that because you’re supposed to only stay there nine hours, and each room is so small you can’t even stand up in it. That’s right: it’s a capsule.
People probably makeĀ fun of these capsule hotels because they’re more like file drawers in a morgue than hotel rooms, but at least each capsule in 9h sports an uber-cool Panasonic-designed panel (HAL’s long lost sister) with a sound system and mood lighting.
…Ooooh yeah.

In the common area, you can take a shower, utilise the super cool locker rooms, and indulge yourself in a luxury lounge as well.
The sheets in each capsule are of the same quality as a 4-star hotel, too.
There’s no mention of price for this luxury compartment, but we like the idea of a tiny bit of luxury for a tiny bit of money.

You can read a bit more about the 9h from Fast Company.

Really cool idea if your a Business person that is always travelling around the country.
